Fiddletown is having a town hall meeting on Saturday the 17th from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The topic will be emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures, along with how NRW groups provide communication in our County. Amador OES Coordinator, Sergeant Matt Girton, and others will talk about smart911 alert system and go over the steps needed to prepare for emergencies in our area.
FNRW will host a short video presentation on the merits of belonging to an NRW group in Amador County. There will be a clinic after the presentations where members can bring in their Kenwood radios and have them diagnosed and tuned up as needed. We have a limited number of Kenwood TK-380 radios, spare batteries, and properly tuned gmrs antennas available if you need them. FNRW has finished testing a replacement for the Kenwood radios with a reasonably priced handheld that we will recommend going forward. To see what we have tested come to the clinic after the presentation.
